In January of 2019, we decided finally to give in to Adam’s incessant bugging to visit one of his favorites: Carrizo Plain. A true hidden gem in one of California’s most boring valleys. We were not disappointed by the natural beauty but also the opportunity to have fun doing many things.
A great end to a cool day.
The salt flats are delicate, we don’t recommend walking on them.
*or hand-standing for that matter.
Great heights for an awesome view.
Weird rocks, too chossy for climbing.
Maybe not too chossy, but uncomfortably so.
California’s great abandoned water tanks.
Let’s reach the top.
From the edge.
The stars came out, despite the dust.
Oh boy, he looks warm.
Not all of us are photographers, but we all have cameras.
Drift for days.
